Notes From The World Of Fairyglass

This week, on top of running Westonbirt Enchanted Christmas Lights and Winchester Christmas Market, I am also preparing for a mega Christmas Concert at Sylvan’s school.  He is performing in Concert Band, Baines Windband, Junior Chapel Choir and Big Band.  So the school is getting value for money from him and only 1 parent taking up space for 4 different performances.  After the concert, wine and cakes are sold as a fund raiser, so I have made mini mince pies and normal size ones decorated with some of our lovely edible Christmas decorations and Nigella’s Marshmallow crispie cakes decorated with more edible Christmas shapes and white hologram edible glitter.  I am hoping people will “ooh” and “ahh” at them and buy them to eat!

Other news from Fairyglass Towers:  Westonbirt Enchanted Lights are, surprisingly, ….enchanting!  There are carol singers or bands every night apart from tonight, hot roast chestnuts and an 8′  fairy!   There is plenty of free parking, hot food and a real fire in the shop as well as 3 other chalets apart from ours.  The fairies would love you to come and see them!  Winchester Christmas market is also going strong.  There are lots and lots of stalls but plenty of room to walk around without feeling crowded.. We are next to a mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pie and stollen stall, which smells delicious and keeps our spirits up in the cold.  Ben and Ella will be there all weekend and Lucy is there during the week.  They would really like people to say hello and maybe even buy a fairy or two!
