Winchester Christmas Market is going into its third week and Allegra, our resident sales fairy, is selling fairies like they are hot cakes! She has discovered that the magic boots that all the large fairies are wearing stick to each other so they are performing amazing acrobatics in the chalet. You are guaranteed a smile and a chat if you pop along to see Allegra, or Ben at the weekends.
Fairy Dust is leaving a magic glittery trail all over the office building and creating Christmas havoc everywhere. We posted 120 parcels on Monday of all sorts of lovely gifts for our marvellous customers so we are very busy here in Fairyglass Towers.
Other news from Fairyglass Towers : all the fairies are boxed, all 6500 of them!, 5 models are completely sold out already, we are using a lot of heaters to try and keep the building above freezing, and all the elves and fairies enjoyed yummy shared Christmas lunch on Weds. Three of us brought sausage rolls, so they are obviously a popular fairy food!!
On Thursday Winchester Christmas Market opened with great pomp and circumstance. Ice dancers from Dancing On Ice, Japanese drummers and a speech by the Dean all added to the excitement. And of course, Fairygoodies was there with our new range of fairies in our chalet. We are in the cathedral buttresses and if the sun shines, we can bask in its glow. I will be there myself on Saturday afternoon so please come and say hello. I can show you our little Wishing Fairies, Worry Dolls and Fairy Doors too.
Other news from Fairyglass Towers; it is getting colder outside than inside!, we are eating lots of cake from home and enjoying our food van’s lunches. Apothecary’s Magic Dust and Neon Fairy Dust are keeping all the glitter elves very busy and poor Ben has had his last day off before Christmas.
There was no blog last Friday as the fairies spent most of the day stuck on motorways but in between visited Audley End miniature railway. We had a lovely time showing off the next season’s fairies, selecting which would go on the Magical Fairy Walk, and then walking around the Walk. There are little wooden houses for the fairies and all sorts of pretty things to see and discover. And of course, in season, the trains to ride around on. It is going to be lovely and I’m already looking forward to the opening of the Bluebell Wood on the first May Bank Holiday. Anyone who lives nearby should definitely go. It’s great!
Other news from Fairyglass Towers; we had Helen’s birthday lunch with lots of yummy chocolate cake, the glitter elves are working really hard and getting very sparkly and we are getting organised for Winchester Christmas Market.
This week’s new product is Chocolate Marbles along with Fruit Jelly Slices. Delicious! I will putting these pretty chocolate Marbles on my Chocolate Caramel Dessert, on my Chocolate Goo Pudding and anywhere else I can fit them.
I have finished the Snowy Lane Christmas Village. I was thrilled with how they turned out and entered them as part of our Christmas Tree at the Corsham Christmas Tree Festival. We won 3rd place in the people’s choice!! Check out our newsetter for images and lots of info about the kits. The little cottages are now adorning our window ledge and glow from inside with their fairy lights. As enchanting as the lights at Westonbirt Christmas Lights.
Other news from Fairyglass Towers: Winchester Christmas Market continues until Weds and is busy and fun, Westonbirt Enchanted Lights are open this weekend, evenings only. The last posting dates are Tuesday 20th Dec for 1st Class and Thursady 22nd for Special Delivery so you need to get on and place your orders soon to get them in time for Christmas.
We are into the swing of the markets now, getting used to working 7 days a week and looking forward to Christmas and a few days off! Winchester is lovely and our chalet is in the sun for some of the day which is good. The ice rink draws a crowd and everyone seems to have a lovely time. Westonbirt Enchanted Christmas is very beautiful although the walk itself gets very crowded at opening time. A slightly later start to the walk will mean avoiding the worst of the early families with buggies. The lights are very pretty and the use of bubbles is quite magical. I really enjoyed having a break last Saturday evening and walking round. And the fairies are proving popular, so much so, that we are running out of Constanza!
Other news from Fairyglass Towers: most edible glitter colours are back in stock but selling fast, the office is full of Christmas cheer and busyness, Ben has eaten all the chocolates from our Open Day and we are feeling the cold!!!
This is the busiest week of the season so far. On Wednesday Ben drove to Winchester at 6.30am to set up our chalet there. Several hours later he realised he had left some vital structures behind, so drove back to Fairyglass Towers in Wiltshire, then back to Winchester to complete the set up. Our chalet is next to the mulled wine stall in the buttresses of Winchester Cathedral. Lucy will be there during the week and Ben and Ella will be there at the weekend. There is also an ice rink to keep those family members who don’t enjoy shopping happy. Please come and say hello, it is a lovely market with plenty of room to move around and browse all the stalls. Click here for more information.
Today Ben is setting up another chalet at Westonbirt Arboretum for the Enchanted Lights evenings. There are 3 or 4 chalets, depending on which weekend you go, and ours will be twinkling and sparkling with fairies. Tonight Father Christmas is arriving with real reindeer. I will be the one jumping about with excitement and wrapped up in lots of clothes!
Other news from Fairyglass Towers: our open day was a great success, lots of lovely folk came, many got excellent bargains and all got perfect presents and had a good time. There will be some pictures in the next newsletter. The penguins are proving very popular and I suggest you buy them soon as we are definitely going to sell out before Christmas.
One week tomorrow, Saturday 19th November is our annual open day. From 10am to 7pm the warehouse door will see any visitors who care to come, pass through it’s chiming portals. We will be offering mulled wine, winter berry cordial and mince pies as well as the opportunity to see our products “in the flesh”. We will have cupcake decorating and craft kits demos too. And best of all, I get to wear my best fairy dress! So do please come, we’d love to have you.
Our address is ; Unit 33
Leafield Ind Est
Other news from Fairyglass Towers; The fabulous Snowy Lane Crafts are going on www.Makeitnow.co.uk today. I really loved making the cute little houses for my Christmas decorations and am looking forward to painting and glittering the papier mache Santa figurine. We are anticipating a long overdue delivery of edible glitter next Friday and waiting for the fairies to jet in from Thailand, where they have been held up due to the serious flooding experienced there. We are psyching ourselves up for setting up chalets at Winchester Christmas Market (24th Nov to 21st Dec) and Westonbirt Arboreum’s Enchanted Forest (every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 25th Nov to 18th Dec 5-8.30pm). The fairies will be magical at either venue so come and see them!
Hooray! New sprinkles are in. See this page for all the info and images. There are all sorts of delicious and sophisticated flavoured chocolate drops. Our favourite is Strawberry, not just because it is pink but also because of the flavour! This weekend the family have asked for a cheesecake, so it will have to include some of these buttons somewhere as I am desperate to test them. And the top will have to be elegantly garnished with some marzipan roses and sugar roses as they are so pretty. We also have single colour vermicelli or sugar strands for weddings and cakes that are themed in a particular colour. And look at those curls of orange, caramel or strawberry flavoured chocolate; they will be yummy on all sorts of cake and cupcake.
Other news from Fairyglass Towers; THE HEATING IS NOW ON!!! We are making exciting plans for our Open Day on Saturday 19th Nov. Everyone is invited. It will here, at Fairyglass Towers, Unit 33, Leafield Ind Est, Corsham , Wilts, SN13 9RS from 10am – 7pm. We will be offering mulled wine and nibbles, product demos and wonderful gifts from all our websites. Plus you will get to meet us fairies! In relation to the heating, a matter dear to my heart, Ben and Mog have been crawling around in the roof laying some insulation. This building was the coldest on the planet, but now it is warming up! We are ready for winter! Our fairy delivery is on its way, the little fairies are all flapping their wings as hard as they can to get to us soon, and we are looking forward to setting up at Winchester Market http://tinyurl.com/5w5y3p8 and at Westonbirt Enchanted Christmas http://tinyurl.com/3r9t9mk where we will be in little wooden chalets surrounded by fairies and (hopefully) twinkling lights! Another opportunity to catch us out in the real world.
